I, for one, am excited about the changes taking place in the Church. New leaders are rising who have new ideas on what the Church should be. And some of their ideas are a departure from the traditional view of the Church. I like this. Sometimes a new wineskin is needed for a new generation.
Yes, there’s a changing of the guard taking place. I have prophesied about this change in the past. And it’s taking place right now. The old is passing and the new is coming. There has never been a better time for a change than now nor have we ever needed it more. The current generation cannot be reached with old models and methods of the past. We need new leaders with new tools, models, and methods to reach a new generation. And God, more than anyone else, is aware of this fact.
Why is this the case? Because the generation of today is different from yesterday’s generations. The generation of today is light years ahead of prior generations in their understanding of our universe. And yet, they also recognize the inhumanity of man. The struggle over identity is real. The test of human knowledge has been exceeded. Today’s generation realizes it cannot escape sin, if there is such a thing they think, so they seek to redefine themselves to a point where there is no sin.
The bastardization of science has produced a hellish amalgamation of transhumanism. Mankind is seeking to redefine itself from traditional, Biblical, and moral frameworks. It’s into that world that a new generation of leaders must arise, leaders who must speak to the void of human waste and say what God said at the beginning of creation, Let there be light! I am convinced that the new generation of church leaders arising will find their voice. And their united voice will speak to the ills and evils of our day on a wavelength that’s understandable and discernible to their own generation.
That’s why I’m excited about the new generation of leaders who are arising. I see in them with an unwavering and unshakable faith. I see in them with a zeal that makes my generation look apathetic. I see in them a desire for practical, experiential Christianity rather than top down Christianity led by the master or doctoral class. I see a willingness to serve. I see a humility that puts my generation to shame. I see a grittiness and sheer toughness of desire and passion. I see a willingness to go “all in” with God.
My generation gave lip service to that desire. My generation looks good but doesn’t last long when it gets tough. But the generation arising has a true grit. And the leaders emerging will carry that trueness to its fullest expression. Yes, it requires true men and women not defined by religious hypocrisy and ideologies to overcome the truthlessness of a generation hanging over the void of despair. That’s the kind of leader I see emerging. And that’s why I’m excited about those changes coming to the Church over the coming decades (if Christ should tarry).
As scripture says, “This is the generation of them that seek him, of them that seek the face of the God of Jacob.” Ps. 23:6, Douay-Rheims Bible. Yes, this is the hour of the seeker. Yes, the seekers are coming! The seekers are coming! It’s time for the seer seekers to arise with fire in their eyes and bring God’s glory back to His Church. “Do this, knowing that this is a critical time. It is already the hour for you to awaken from your sleep [of spiritual complacency]; for our salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed [in Christ].” Rom. 13:11, Amplified Bible.
We need seekers for seekers are finders. And as the old adage goes, finders are keepers. We need those who seek to find and live beyond the daily grind until they are refined by the fires of God’s presence to bring the glories of His grace into our world. Light is needed. New lights are rising. Old lights are dying. It’s time for a shifting, a commissioning, an ordination of manifest destiny. Yes, it’s time for a change. And it’s coming, the Church is changing, and it’s time for us to prepare ourselves for Christ’s coming by being about our Father’s business.
As such, get busy doing the work of the Lord and you won’t be disappointed. No, you’ll hear a message, a voice that says, well done, my good and faithful servant. And that’s the generation arising, a generation of servant seer seekers who will manifest the identity of Christ to the coming generation. Amen.
