One of the phrases that the satan and demons said to Jesus is, what have you to do with us, and we have “nothing in common” or “what business have we to do with each other.” Read Matt. 8:29, Mark 1:24, Mark 5:7, Luke 4:34, Luke 8:28, and John 2:4
Ive always wondered and never understood what this phrase meant and your probably wondering why I have decided to bringing it up within this blog.
This phrase or similar is written more than 15 times in the Bible. When the demons quoted it to Jesus it was because He had never sinned and their isn’t ANY grounds to which they could “entice” or “do business with,” there isn’t anything in common. Nothing in His heart that they could legally bind him by the letter of the law or LAW of the Spirit.
This is an issue of the heart and any other means to deal with it is just a patch or bandaid. Its like taking an aspirin when you have a constant headache but keep treating the symptoms (the uncomfortable headache) but never finding out why or dealing with the source or root. Do a little investigation, don’t treat the symptom but root that causes it. Allow me to ask you a question, but it isn’t for you to answer to anyone except yourself and to really seek out the “root” and cause of the sin that EVERYONE has. Also note Salvation (Deliverance) is individual.
What’s in your heart? What do you really like? What is it about that thing that you do that you really LOVE, lustfully? Pay attention (examine) your mood, emotions, and thoughts do you say things like, yes, i love this, or i want that?
The enemy knows exactly what you like, he knows what you desire. I remember a time when being tested (i knew i was in a spiritual battle) by a woman that was demon possessed and she looked at me and said to me, I know what you like, i know whats in your heart. I asked her inquisitively, “how do you know? The demon in her said I can watch how you look at something, and your body language. The demon was well versed in my humanity.
James 1:12-15 (KJV)
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
The devil tempts to destroy us individually first spiritually, then our soul (mind, emotions, and Will) finally everything externally. Your marriage, family etc. Why in that order, to sever your connection with God so you run from Him not to Him with shame, guilt, and regret.
Genesis 3:10 (KJV
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.)
God tests us to purify us and our faith which is much more precious than the finest of gold that eventually will become worthless.
1 Peter 1:7-9 (KJV)
7 That the trial of your faith (complete trust and believing) , being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith (complete trust and believing), even the salvation (deliverance) of your souls (mind, emotions, and will).
Being a born again Christian means that Jesus is LORD that is Master, Owner of our lives. Our past becomes non-existent it doesn’t exist anymore even though it was not erased in our soul.
