The Rising Darkness

I remember when Frank Peretti’s book, This Present Darkness, came out. It took the Christian community by storm. Suddenly, believers were aware of the real spiritual battles they were facing. And we came to understand how Satan is working in our world today. Needless to say, it was an eye opening book.

Today, it appears that book was a prophecy of the season we are facing right now. The devil and his angels are diabolically working to destroy America. This is clearly visible. And the old guard that was standing against the rot of this nation has and is being removed.

Recently, I wrote a post, Where’s Tucker? That post spoke of the sudden removal of Tucker Carlson from his nightly post on Fox at 8:00, EST. Nearly everyone was shocked those turn of events. I had suspected something was wrong when Carlson’s show was placed on the back burner on Fox Nation. Yet, his removal is indicative of the spiritual battle we are facing as a nation. And by and large the Church is unprepared for that battle.

We can see how unprepared we are by the impact we’re having on society. The Church, as a whole, is having negligible impact on society. People are leaving churches en mass. As a pastor, that concerns me. As a prophet, that alarms me. Yet, like the band playing on the Titanic, we’ve been lulled to sleep by the smooth sounds of worship in the Church. And we haven’t been being trained like the army we are meant to be. Many fail to see the combat zone we’re living in.

As of today, America is on the precipice of nuclear war. Yet few are paying attention to that prospect. Inflation has driven the dollar to such a low that the lunch at Taco Bell were more expensive than a real Mexican restaurant plus tip. I was nearly floored when I saw the box meal that used to cost $5.00 was now $11.99. And businesses are going belly up en mass. We’re in trouble, but there are few are “blowing the trumpet”. As the Apostle Paul said, “if the trumpet sounds a muffled call, who will prepare for battle?” 1 Cor. 14:8, Berean Standard Bible.

I wrote my book, Breaking the Spell Over America to sound the alarm, as I wrote my book, Decade of Destiny, to prepare the Church for the purpose of the revival that came in the 1990s. It was to prepare for the famine that would follow. From 2000, which was the prophesied end of that revival, to today, we’ve experienced a famine of hearing the word of the Lord. And the old guard of prophets, many of whom I’ve known, is quickly disappearing. Yet we seem to be oblivious to the times and seasons.

Storm clouds are on the horizon. All is not well. A battle unlike anything this nation has experienced is coming. Yet we focus on the superficial, superfluous and spectacular. It’s time for us to wake up lest we woke.

Yes, darkness is rising. Yet in the middle of this darkness that’s rising I have hope, for there’s a promise in scripture: “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.” Mal. 4:2, NLT. To that darkness, the Lord commands us to “Arise! Shine brightly, because your light has arrived, and the glory of LORD JEHOVAH shall rise upon you!” Is. 60:1, Aramaic Bible in Plain English.

As the Apostle Paul said 2000 years ago, “The night [this present evil age] is almost gone and the day [of Christ’s return] is almost here. So let us fling away the works of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light.” Rom. 13:12, Amplified Bible. Church, it’s time for us to get our gear on and ready ourselves for the battle by wearing the armor of light.
