Society’s Firewall — The Church

Our society is breaking down today. It’s breaking down due to the moral corruption of the American people. Whether it be those in leadership, those who are lifelong patriots, waves of illegal immigration, or believers in Christ, as a society, we have lost our moral compass. Among all the groups and organizations that exist, there’s only one that can bring America out of the death spiral of its immoral freefall — the Church. That’s what I’d like to talk about in this post.
Recently, I saw a post by a recognized prophet. In his post, he claimed young prophets were naive, in error, or missing it when it came to President Trump. And I thought about what he said. I think his perspective is erroneous. President Trump is possibly the greatest president America has seen in more than a century and a half. Yet, I also understand President Trump cannot solve America’s sweeping issues — the loss of virtue and morality — we no longer know how to be the best of what America once represented.
As a young man playing golf at Spartan Meadows in Elgin, Illinois, I spent quality time with elderly men who came out of the Great Depression. Although they could be colorful in their language, there was a morality they had amongst them. They could all be described as hardworking, honest, courageous, and generous men. Their lives, even in the midst of hard times, were not primarily focused on themselves. Rather, they would all give the shirt off their back to someone, especially a woman in need. Truly, those men were cut from a different cloth, a moral cloth America appears to be in short supply of today.
That generation of Americans, although not necessarily religious, were moral men. They may not have said I love you, but they showed it through their actions, doing things selflessly to better the lives of others. To me, that sounds like what Jesus did — “who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil”. Acts 10:38. In fact, the Apostle Paul charges the Church to: “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Gal. 6:10.
Doing good. Shouldn’t that be what we do, as believers? Why so little emphasis on that in so many churches today? I have a prophetic word, Church, let us be about our Father’s business of doing good and healing. If we’re doing those things, then we can do greater works. The miracles, signs, and wonders follow true believers who do the will of their Father in heaven.
And that’s what our world needs today: A Church ignited by the prospect of doing the Father’s will. Today’s Church is the only firewall standing in the way of Satan. We’re it. God has given us a mission: “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Mk. 16:15, NLT. By preaching the Good News, we are changing and restoring the moral compass of an entire generation lost wandering in sin’s wilderness.
Moral rot and degradation don’t have the final word over this generation. No, we, the Church, have God’s Word for this generation. We need to deliver the message — the Good News. We must let the Good News of Christ ring through our lives as a liberty bell for all who are oppressed. We can set the captives free. Jesus authorized His Church to do that. Instead of being afraid of witches and warlocks, demons and deception, we must recognize who we are: The Church Christ is building, a Church that has an unshakable foundation — Christ Himself.
Yes, Jesus Christ is why the Church will prevail every time in every situation. Unlike those in the Old Testament, not only will no weapon formed against us prosper, we will always have the victory, if we make a decision to stand. As the Apostle Paul said, “[T]hanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor. 15:57, NKJV. We are not the Church defeated, the Church looking to escape from the Devil, the struggling and weak Church. No, we are and were made to be the Church triumphant.
We are the final wall between evil and good in every society — no matter what nation we are in. We are America’s last, best hope. We are this world’s last, best hope. And it’s time to close the breach of sin. The Church, believers, has allowed the moral virus of sin to corrupt vast swaths of humanity without lifting a finger to fight against the Devil in practical ways, doing good and healing, like Jesus, our Savior.
You are anointed! You are empowered! You have authority! Christ has given us all we need. What we need today is simple — determination, will power, stamina, perseverance in the face of adversity, a desire to do what Jesus did — preach the Good News. That message still works. People still need healing. As Peter and John said, we can say, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” Acts 3:6. We can say, “Be healed! Be delivered! Be set free! In the name of Jesus Christ.
The name of Jesus hasn’t lost its power to save. No, His name sets those captive to sin, moral decay and rot, free. The Christ is us is greater than the evil in this world. Now, believe it! Do it! Do the Good News! Heal in Christ’s name! You have been authorized to do good and heal. Let’s focus on that, please!
Let us pray!
