Now, my background is that of being an Electrical Engineer. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa. Further, I’ve always enjoyed both physics and mathematics, especially learning about the laws governing our Universe. And right there, we should stop and take notes — laws govern our lives and Universe. As such, of necessity, there must be a lawgiver — God. Understanding that elemental truth is foundational to any conversation we might have on the subjects in this post. That’s why I think it’s vital to consider the physics behind the possibility of space travel, interplanetary travel, interstellar travel, and the like.
Richard Feynman, a famous theoretical physicist, who jointly won the Nobel Prize for his work in Quantum Electrodynamics, did not believe in the possibility of intelligent life being able to travel the vast distances necessary to travel to earth from wherever they might come from. The basis for his belief was the fundamental laws of physics. Even traveling to Mars he considered too difficult for numerous reasons, including the arduous journey through space (cosmic rays constantly bombard anyone is space, even through physical structures). The physics behind that kind of journey is nearly impossible. Getting there is the easiest part, being able to return is where things get extremely difficult.
Why do I bring up what a famous theoretical physicist believed? Because he looked at things analytically. Now, he also didn’t believe in God. So, I don’t take too much stock in what he believed. But purely from a physics standpoint, the technology required, if it’s even possible, for an alien race to travel the vast distances required to reach us is highly implausible and purely speculative. Think about that for a second. Further, there are many reasons that would hinder any alien civilization, if existing, to travel the vast distances required, including time. If those aliens, if they truly existed, were able to travel vast distances of space, it’s likely that it would be a one way trip for them. That alone would be a significant sacrifice.
Why do I point those things out? Gullibility, our gullibility. Unfortunately, the Church, and believers in general, are gullible and naive, especially in the prophetic movement. Yikes!!! You didn’t just say that, some might say. Yes, I did. Jesus plainly said, “be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16, NKJV. But first, He said, “I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves.” And before He warned them about being sent out to the wolves, He said, “Listen carefully”. And that’s where we fail — we fail to listen to what He said, and rather, we reinterpret what He said instead of believing what He said.
“The value of the truth we possess far exceeds the treasure this world has or offers.”—Scott Wallis
Now, as a prophet, I do not believe everything people say, even other prophets who I know and respect. I test what is being said…always. Further, I check what I’m saying. Why? Because I know it’s possible for me to be deceived. The One thing we’ve been given to overcome the deception in this world is the Bible — all of the Bible. Now, some only believe some of the Bible. They have pet doctrines and cherry pick God’s promises. Often, their goal is to make a point, prove themselves or others right, and they’re not really searching for truth. Yet, in an age of deception, the most valuable thing we possess as the Church is truth. Truth, reality, and real substance provide believers with legitimacy, and demonstrate our integrity. That’s what we need in this age. The value of the truth we possess far exceeds the treasure this world has or offers.
Among the books I have read books viewed videos on aliens, UFOs/UAPs, Ancie Civilizations, time travel, and The Big Bang, little, if any, proof is presented. Instead, subjective experiences are the sole basis for much of what is stated. So far, I have read Rungs of Disclosure by LA Marzulli, Star Gods by Katie Souza, and Summoning the Demon by Alan Didio on UFOs/UAPs. Further, I have read Giants, Fallen Angels, and theNephilim by Rick Renner and the Giant 6 Conspiracy (1 & 2) by Gary Wayne.
Now, there are references in some of those books on testimony of credentialed military officers and some testimony includes verified videos of unexplained objects apparently doing impossible things. There are also other claims that are highly speculative, subjective, and overstate
Dido’s book is possibly the best on its philosophical treatment of a wide variety of topics. So, I would cite and recommend it for that reason. Marzulli’s book seems to always say it’s going somewhere but never really gets there. Souza’s book is a little — I would say — weird. Some cite the same encounters of the UFO/UAP phenomena. Congress held hearings on this subject. So, it’s a real topic. Mazulli has what I would consider good theology on this subject. And he cites some anonymous sources (claimed high ranking military officers) who state that aliens are really demons (inter dimensional beings), which I would agree is possible. Notably, he states that he does not believe what has been seen in various videos is of extraterrestrial origin (from other star systems). I would agree
As far as The Big Bang, the evolution of the human race, I like what Ken Ham says, it’s The Big Lie. He believes in the Young Earth creation theory (that the heavens and the Earth were created in six days), which scripture states is what happened. Dr. Michael Heiser, a Hebraic scholar and an expert in Sematic languages and culture, would agree with him on the Hebraic language in Genesis 1:1-3, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Specifically, that it does not point to a pre-creation before Adam and Eve, which it appears is being taught today.
Unfortunately, this brings me to my overall point — the spirit of speculation seems to be running rampant in the Church. False theology, false beliefs, false doctrines, and false and misleading lifestyles seem to have gained prominence in the Church — which is meant to be “the pillar and ground of the truth.” 1 Timothy 3:15 NKJV. I’d like us to think about how others are perceiving us. Does what we teach draw others closer to God? Is the gospel message our primary focus? Are we taking seriously Jesus’s command to “make disciples of all nations;” Matthew 28:19, NLT. Are others taking us seriously? For the Church to gain that kind of following, what we are teaching others must be held in the highest esteem by them. And sadly, that’s not the case.
The Apostle Paul made a singular decision that set the course for ministry — “I made the decision to know nothing [that is, to forego philosophical or theological discussions regarding inconsequential things and opinions while] among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified [and the meaning of His redemptive, substitutionary death and His resurrection].” 1Corinthians 2:2, Amplified Bible. Yes, the Apostle Paul was cautious in what he taught, as we should be. Further, he brought everyone back to the basic teaching and substance of the gospel — the message of Christ and the cross. On those two things, his entire theology was hinged, I would suggest we go back to that kind of theology, for it produces God’s power in our midst and lives. The world may speculate, but the Church should and must demonstrate the truth of the gospel,
And that’s where I’d like to leave these subjects, questions on these subjects, and any answers we might be seeking about these subjects. Personally, it’s okay to speculate, desire to learn and grow in understanding, and consider these topics, which, I too, find fascinating. At the same time, I think we need to keep the main thing the main thing. The gospel is our main thing. The Bible is a fount of revealed truth. We shouldn’t be speculating and twisting scripture to suit our own ends or to align what scripture says to science. Rather, scripture should be the foundation for all we believe and do. Truthfully, science is still trying to catch up to the scriptures. And I think a little more humility and wisdom is what we need in handling the kinds of subjects I raise in this post.
If I want to boldly go anywhere, it’s deeper into the truth of the scripture — the greatest frontier anyone could seek to pursue, for the scriptures teach us how God designed everything to operate from the very beginning. And that’s why I think we should go back to what the Bible says happened at the very beginning of everything — In the beginning…God said. That’s how important what God said was and is. Jesus affirmed the importance of what He said — “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24:35 KJV. If He affirmed the importance of His own Word, shouldn’t we as His followers do the same. Lastly, and in closing, Jesus prayed this for us to His Father about His Father’s Word — “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17, NKJV.
The truth isn’t out there, as Fox Mulder was always searching for; rather, it’s in your Bible — pick it up, read it, study it, meditate upon it, believe it, for it’s truth affirmed by truth incarnate — Christ Himself.
Let us pray!
