Sometimes, loss isn’t always bad, especially when you’re a sheep. Sheep have a tendency to grow wool, lots of wool. In fact, their wool came become so thick that they’re unable to do anything. Sheep need a shepherd. Further, the shepherd needs to shear the sheep for the sake of the sheep. Sheep weren’t meant to care for themselves. Someone, a good shepherd needs to care for them. If not, then sheep become too wooly.
Are you a wooly sheep? Do you carry a lot of baggage with you everywhere you go? Do you feel weighted down by your past, your mistakes, your sins, your flaws, your errors, or your other wooly situations? You’re not alone! That describes many within the Church today — wooly. And wooly sheep can do crazy things.
Seen any fellow believers, fellow church members, even ministry leaders do or believe some crazy things? If we look at America right now, lots of absolutely crazy and insane stuff going on. How’d that happen? Too much wool. Yes, lots of hair on things we’re facing. As the question in the movie goes, “Who you gonna call?!” Not ghostbusters! Sheep shearers!
And we need some serious sheep shearing to get back to sanity in the Church and in America. We need the great shepherd of the sheep, Jesus Christ, to shear His sheep, whether it be in His Church or a sheep nation, like America. Yes, America is a sheep nation. For both, it’s time for prophets to declare: Let the shearing begin!
That’s right! Let the shearing begin! God, in His wisdom, has foreordained this time to shear His sheep.
Some of you might ask, What does that look like? Have you ever seen a sheep sheared? Recently, I watched a YouTube video of sheep being sheared. The look on the sheep’s face was hilarious. They went into the shearing process full of thick wool. They came out naked as a jaybird. The sheep in those videos looked like the hairless chihuahua.
Moreover, the sheep looked dazed and confused. No, the sheep didn’t understand what happened to them. They looked completely lost and totally overwhelmed by the shearing process. But it’s an absolutely necessary process. Shepherds must shear their sheep. Always.

When was the last time you heard a message from your pastor that sheared you. It cut away all of the hair in your life and situation and it got down to the very skin of what was happening in your life. Chances are, never. The American pastor hasn’t been taught to shear their sheep. Rather, we’ve taught pastors how to feed the sheep.
That’s why God has raised up pastor prophets, like Jeremiah, to shear God’s sheep. No, it won’t be pleasant. It will feel like what they’re doing is off. Many sheep will kick against it. But unless you go through the shearing process, you won’t be ready. For what? Your next.
Your next promotion, Your next position, Your next level is predicated on you going through the shearing process. And some will call abuse. Others will say it’s unnecessary. They will tell you to “keep your wool together”. No, the need to be sheared is not an illusion; it’s a requirement. It’s necessary for what God wants to do in your life.
As my late friend, Burton Seavey would say, “You can say, ‘Amen!’ Or you can say, ‘Ouch!’ On this one, there’s no in between. Or as Shakespeare said, “to be sheared or not to be sheared, that is the question.” Okay! So, I made up the part about Shakespeare saying that. What he did say was, “to be or not to be, that is the question.” I added the word, sheared.
Get ready! The sheep shearers are coming. Didn’t Paul Revere say something like that. Okay, he was warning about the British. I’m informing you on the purposes of God so you can align with His times. And it’s shearing time.
