I've asked the question in a previous blog: Where are the prophets? The reason I asked that question is the relative silence by Church leaders on a host of atrocities taking place in our world. One of the worst, human organ harvesting, is taking place right now in China. Alongside human organ harvesting is human trafficking. In scripture, human trafficking was a capital offense. Along with human organ harvesting and human trafficking is human baby butchering (abortion). Crazy! Yet, people are fighting for it, profiting from it, and blind to everyone’s collective responsibility to stop each of these awful forms of human barbarism. We need prophetic voices in our midst speaking against evils taking place in our day. The Church cannot be silent; we must raise our voices: first, in prayer; then, in denunciation. That’s what I’d like to talk about in todays daily post.
I still remember the Democratic convention in Chicago in 2024. While the Democratic candidate for president, Kamala Harris, was in her perch waiting to be announced to a packed house, abortionists were outside butchering babies through mobile abortion mills. Like the ancient pagan worshippers, who wildly sacrificed their own sons and daughters to Molech, the Democratic Party wholeheartedly supported those child sacrifices. What an abomination! Let me be clear: “I am saying that these sacrifices are offered to demons, not to God. And I don’t want you to participate with demons.” 1 Corinthians 10:20, NLT. That was the devil’s work by a devilish party promoting devilish deeds of darkness. It’s not political. No, it’s spiritual. I cannot be silent about something so evil.
Yes, there are evil people in this world. Yes, evil people may have the “law” on their side. Evil acts have been done by evil people since Cain killed his own brother Abel with a stone. Why’d he kill his brother? Because he chose a life of sin. He chose evil. Yes, God, in his infinite wisdom, allows men, women, and children to choose evil. Or they, like Abel, can choose to do the right thing. God gave mankind a conscience. The fact that some people have chosen to harden themselves to their own conscience doesn’t mean that, at one time, they didn’t have a conscience. They did! Everyone is graced with a conscience from birth. That some openly choose to ignore their conscience, silence their conscience’s voice, and do evil, doesn’t mean the collective voice of conscience can be silenced.
Prophets, real prophets, provoke the collective conscience of mankind. That’s why they are hated. Jesus wasn’t hated because He was wrong. No, He was hated because He was doing right. He healed those who were sick. And He was hated for it. Why? Because He healed on the Sabbath. What?! How is that wrong?! It’s not! But the religious leaders of Jesus’s day, who should have been healing the sick, even on the Sabbath day, weren’t. They couldn’t. Even though healing was promised to them by Moses, Exodus 15:26, and King David, Psalm 103:3. Both verses promised healing: Not for some, but for all.
Killing someone for healing is unconscionable. Further, killing someone for speaking truth is evil. That’s what happened to John the Baptist (and Charlie Kirk). King Herod liked to listen to John the Baptist. But John the Baptist spoke against his illegal marriage to Herodias. She hated John the Baptist and wanted him dead because he showed Herod how his marriage to her was a sham; it was illegal for them to be married. Nevertheless, they acted like they were really married. Herodias, in her mind, had to kill John the Baptist. His pointed message was more than she could handle. And that still happens today.
Real evil still exists. Real prophets speak against that evil. That’s one of the jobs of prophets: to speak of and against the evils of the day. Elijah did that. So did Jeremiah. Ezekiel and Isaiah, yes, all the prophets confronted the evils in their day. We must do the same. We speak against the human organ harvesting, human trafficking, human butchering called abortion, gang rape and torture of women, and other evils. And lest we think ourselves better than the Chinese, it was only a few years ago when abortionists were caught on camera selling human baby parts in America.
We must decry any and all such evils. The blood of innocents cries out while the Church remains silent. Prophets, cry out against injustice. Cry out against those evils taking place in our day. Now is the time where we must rise to the occasion, challenge the conscience challenged, and restore justice in the land.
May God raise an army of weeping prophets who’s prayers are heard and feared. Arise, dear prophet! You’re needed! Prophesy! Prophesy to the nations! Prophesy life! Prophesy justice! Prophesy judgment! “Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God”, Psalms 68:1-2, “But let the righteous be glad; Let them rejoice before God; Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.” Psalms 68:3, NKJV.
Rejoice, you righteous, for God is sending us prophets and apostles. “Therefore, take notice, I am sending you prophets and wise men [interpreters, teachers] and scribes [men educated in the Mosaic Law and the writings of the prophets]; some of them you will kill and even crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues, and pursue and persecute from city to city, so that on you will come the guilt of all the blood of the righteous shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah [the priest], the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.” Matthew 23:35, Amplified Bible. Lord, have mercy!
Let us pray!
