Real prophecy is powerful. Prophecy makes the impossible possible: it opens doors that no one can shut and shuts doors that no one can open. Today's church needs genuine prophecy.

I have experienced the power of real prophecy given by real prophets in my own life. What I received wasn't "wishon", but a genuine word from God. When true prophets speak a true word, it can change the course of your life. Things that were once unobtainable become possible through prophecy.

Prophecy is designed to increase our capacity and ability; it opens new possibilities that were previously not imagined. It causes us to see new insights into new ways of doing things. The heavens open and the waters part to enable to move into the fullness of our destiny. Real prophecy imparts power.

Power, something sadly missing in much of the church today, is available when we open the door to the spirit of prophecy. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of prophecy and one who guides us into all truth. We do not need to fear prophecy, but receive it.

One genuine prophecy can change the course of your life forever. This is how powerful true prophecy can be; it can change everything, including you. God speaking causes things to happen inside men. God's voice can change the course of nature itself. God's voice is wonderful, awesome and fearsome.

When God spoke, Elijah, Samuel and Moses listened. God spoke to men and they became great men. One word from God caused Solomon to become the wisest among men. One word from God caused David to become King, opened prison doors for Joseph, and caused Daniel to sleep peacefully in the lion's den.

Today, we have many "words", but little corresponding power. I question prophecies that do not contain a corresponding amount of power. Why? Because I have heard the voice of God. I know that there is power behind His voice.

In the late 1980's, while meditating on a scripture verse, Acts 1:8, I heard the audible voice of God. Hearing God's audible voice changed my life forever. God said to me, audibly, "I said power".

From that point, I understood that power is essential to our testimony. Without power, our witness is tainted by the voices of skepticism, doubt and unbelief. With power, our witness is irrefutable and undeniable.

Today, the church must "power up" by desiring and receiving genuine prophecy. True prophecies open our ears and cause us to hear the voice of God with greater clarity and accuracy. The greater our clarity and accuracy in those things that we are hearing from God, the more power we receive from God.

I wrote my second book, "Plugging into the Spirit of Prophecy: Adding Power to Your Prophetic Words" to help those called into the prophetic ministry to speak words filled with power.

In this book, I share practical keys to help believers called into prophetic ministry grow in their ability to minister powerful prophetic words. It will revolutionize your spiritual life and ministry.

If you have not read this book, I would encourage you to get a copy so that you can receive greater understanding of how to move into deeper dimensions of God's Spirit and power.
